MUST HAVE: Hospital experience running a PMO. They want someone to walk in the door, implement the PMO directives that they bring with them - methodologies, etc. People who have healthcare insurance, medical device, or ERP will NOT work for this position. Consultants are maybe because many times they are not directing the PMO or are sending people out on the client site but they are not there. Either way MUST HAVE HOSPITAL experience.
Job Summary:
PMO Senior Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and support of IT governance, program, and project management processes, standards, guidelines, and tools across the enterprise. This includes establishing PMO practice and PM training of personnel in full life-cycle PM.
· Facilitates a governance process that coordinates intake and review of IT project requests, costs, benefits, risks, and relative priorities of the IT tactical plan to ensure its ongoing alignment with business objectives and IT strategies.
· Identifies and integrates best practices such as project portfolio management, resource management, performance metrics, and project management.
· Oversees IT disaster recovery and service continuity, ensuring effective integration with the Hospital Emergency Communications System.
· Coordinates the work of internal and contracted project managers providing implementation support.
· Oversees project initiation, planning, execution, control, and shutdown. Monitors, assesses, and facilitates mitigation of risks across the IT project portfolio.
- Manages financial P&L for PMO area including accurately forecasting costs and operating within established budgets
- Establishes and maintains Project Manager Development program focused on motivating project managers to establish PM competencies, improve professional skill levels, and attain recognized certifications.
- Implements Project Management standards and best-practices based on measurable success criteria
- Manages program level financials including forecasting and variance analysis
- Defines high level Applications strategies, guidelines and standards that balance short term and long term objectives in a practical manner, and provide architectural review services for potential solutions
- Champions the establishment and ongoing operation of industry best practice processes aligned with ITIL including Change, Asset, Problem, Incident, Service, and Request Management
